There is now a new way to get around Union Springs... limousine.
James Poe Jr. and his wife Bertha Coleman Poe, began their limo service recently. So far the business seems to be enjoying much success in Union Springs. The service began just in time for prom season. "We started about four months ago and were able to take students to prom," Mr. Poe said. "Parents and students just raved about the service."
The limo service is the first licensed service of its type in Bullock County. The Poes stress they want this service to be available for everyone and for every occasion. "People can use it for weddings, receptions, proms, birthday parties," Mrs. Poe said. "Families can use it for trips to Birmingham, Montgomery and they can ride there in style and together."
The business not only brings a new type of transportation, it also brings jobs."You know once these people complete the program, we pay twice or three times minimum wage," Mr. Poe said. One of the issues the Poes, as well as everyone across the city and state, are encountering is the constant rise in gas prices. "Well, it's always a challenge,"Mr. Poe said. "But, if you get a group of people together and everyone pools their resources, it can be afforded." Mr. Poe also said he is optimistic gas prices will begin to stabilize, and said for now they just have to ride the wave of high prices just like everyone else.
Perhaps some comfort can be found in this service knowing the patrons will never have to worry about being behind the wheel."This service solves the problem for drinking," Mr. Poe said. "I am not worried about that, nor should any of the customers be." Mrs. Poe said the service is an experience that is long remembered. The Limousine transportation is an extension of Poe Enterprises.
